How specialty steel gets its unique properties
The process starts with carefully selected scrap and raw material. Melting takes place in an electric arc furnace (EAF) where impurities are removed, often using vacuum technology. Alloys such as chromium and molybdenum are then added for strength, corrosion protection and heat resistance — the whole process is monitored by digital control systems.
